I’m Jorge Pacheco, a service-disabled veteran — eight and a half years on active duty as a Navy helicopter aircrewman — and a small business owner in Henderson, Nevada.
Last year, a company registered in my name was altered through a filing I did not authorize. Nothing verified who acted or under what authority, and nothing alerted me. I found out by chance, reading my email. Filing that change took minutes. Fixing it has taken months.
There is a real gap between filing a document and verifying it. Veterans have even more at stake, because our certifications and federal contracts depend on clean records.
And it’s bigger than my case. A DD-214 rarely tells the whole story of our training and qualifications. What’s missing could be the breakthrough for the job we want — if we could prove it.
That’s why I founded AlphasBlock. We’re building an environment where veterans can keep a verified record of their service, training, achievements, and business — controlled by the veteran, and shared only with their permission. It’s for those of us who have served, and for the future veterans coming after us. My plan is to make verification free for veterans.
I want to build this around what you actually need, not what I assume. Your answers will shape it.
